Harz Mountains
The Harz is a north German low mountain range that is protected by its status as a national park. The mountain range lies in the border area of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. A variety of options are offered to travelers in the national park. Whether hiking, cycling, paddling, or skiing, every lively visitor will find an activity here. Picturesque mountains, beautiful reservoirs and idyllic rivers invite you to enjoy the outdoors. For example, a tour on the Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz Mountains, should not be missing. But other natural spectacles such as the Teufelsmauer or the sand caves in the Heers make the Harz unique. Away from nature, historical cities like Quedlinburg and old castles and palaces like Falkenstein Castle await you. Since the Harz is not far from my home, I have visited the national park many times. I highly recommend a visit to any nature lover.        Â
