Lüneburg Heath
The Lüneburg Heath is a large heathland in Lower Saxony, in which individual areas are protected. This area is characterized by a variety of heather plants that only bloom from the beginning of August to mid September. At this time, large oceans of purple heather plants make the hearts of nature lovers beat faster. Therefore, the Lüneburg Heath is ideal for hiking and cycling. Popular travel destinations are the Wilseder Berg, the Totengrund, the Pietzmoor or the Osterheide. In addition, Heidschnucken, which you can often see freely grazing on the surfaces, are also a culinary highlight here. Due to the proximity to my homeland, I have been to the heath many times and can recommend it to anyone who comes to Lower Saxony.
