Ruins

Ruins are the result of turning times, wars, accidents, or natural disasters. All types of buildings or even entire cities are affected. If you stand in front of a ruin as a traveler you ask yourself what it looked like, who lived here or how it came to decay. Your imagination runs wild. And that is exactly what makes crumbling buildings so interesting. As I strolled through the old streets of the destroyed city of Pompeii, I imagined what life here would have looked like back then. I experienced the same in the huge temples of Angkor or the ruins of Sukhothai. While you will find many ancient temples in Asia, you will come across countless castle ruins and abandoned bunkers in Europe. Even the ghost town of Pripyat near Chernobyl is currently becoming a popular travel destination. Look around and discover abandoned places and crumbling buildings in the world.
